23-01-2017 Water Sensitive Urban Design: Conclusion of the WSUD research project for the development of an integrated teaching resource.
Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) describes an interdisciplinary planning approach, which links water provision requirements and the design potential of water in settlements. By working closely with water provision services, urban designers and landscape planners, solutions are being developed, which promote water economy, flood protection, urban water development, urban climate, city ecology, identity and the quality of urban space in general as an optimal environment for living. The resulting guidebook looks at technical and design principles in relation to best-practice projects.
